World Press Tour in Mexico City

After a whirlwind tour that took Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez to Manila, New York and Los Angeles, the Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 World Press Tour finally ended with its last stop held at the Monumento a la Revolución in México City.

It is Marquez’ homeland but many were also cheering for Pacquiao as a huge crowd of 30,000 people turned in to watch the press conference.

Riot policemen were even brought in for crowd control. Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera  was also present.

World Press Tour in Los Angeles California

The Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 World Press Tour continues with its third leg at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles, United States on September 7.

It’s meant to promote the third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez to be held on November 12, 2011, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

This is the third stop on a four-city press tour, following Manila and New York, with Mexico City still to come. Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO) will be putting his WBO welterweight title on the line against Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KO), who currently holds the legitimate world championship at lightweight, as well as the WBA and WBO trinkets.

The fight is, of course, the third meeting between the two, following their controversial draw in 2004, and the controversial split decision win in 2008 for Pacquiao. Trilogy rivalries rarely stretch out over seven years, but this one has had a lot of breaks, with great success for both fighters in between.

WWE superstar The Miz was in attendance at the Pacquiao vs Marquez III press conference held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles on September 7.

He even gave the two boxers t-shirts with his famous catchphrase, “I’m Awesome!”

Before the press conference started Manny Pacquiao and Dan Hill had a duet of “Sometimes When We Touch”.

Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez attended a press conference held at the Chelsea Piers in New York City, United States on September 6.

This is the second leg of the Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 World Press Tour meant to promote the third fight between the two to be held on November 12, 2011, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Arum then began his opening statement:

"This fight has been eagerly anticipated by the boxing community for years."

"This is a world wide event because Pacquiao is a world wide figure and probably the most famous athlete in the world. Wherever you go whatever continent you're on whenever you mention boxing everybody knows Pacquiao"

He also mentioned that the fight was now sold out.

World Press Tour in Manila

It officially started the Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 World Press Tour was held at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila last September 3 in front of an open many fans. Prior in this event, they had a press conference hosted by Anthony Suntay and Sev Sarmenta at the Rigodon Hall of the Manila Hotel.

Both of them appeared very sure of their ability to win their third face off, after the two very close bouts. The first one in 2004 ended in a draw and their second one in 2008 was a split decision in favor of Pacquiao, in what was a highly disputable verdict. Marquez has been very vocal that he firmly believes that he won the two last  fights with Pacquiao.

Immediately after the affair in Mexico, Pacquiao’s group boarded another private plane back to Los Angeles to catch the late night flight back to Manila and do their personal appointment...
